Stay in a Oaxacan Village
Away from the Tourist Activities and Crowds
We’re located in San Andrés Huayapam, Oaxaca (25 minutes from downtown Oaxaca). You can take public transport from Oaxaca City (bus, colectivo, or taxi). When studying with us, we highly recommend staying in Huayapam; we offer a private room with a private bathroom in our building; and there are a number of AirBnb options available, a hotel, restaurants, small food stores, a hiking trail, a small park: everything that is necessary for your stay.
If you want to get away from the tourist activities and crowds, if you want to avoid hanging out with foreigners and hearing/speaking English, if you don't need to be in a group to learn or to have fun, and if you won't miss the amenities/services of a city, our program is for you!

San Andrés Huayapam is a small traditional town that is only 25 minutes from Oaxaca City by car, and 35 minutes by bus.
At our school:
For 1 person or a couple–who are taking full weeks of private lessons (15 or 20 hours/week)–we offer: 1 private room + classes + breakfast in our property! Read all the details here 👆

Yes, there's public transportation. There's a bus + mototaxi (tuk-tuk) route between Oaxaca City and Huayapam. We'll send you the instructions for this route via email. 🚌 🛺

ℹ️ Huayapam is a quiet place where you can breathe fresh air, go for a walk, and experience a small Mexican village. There are traditional Oaxacan food restaurants, small food stores, hiking trails in the mountains, a park with bike rentals, a pool and green areas; and a couple of places to have dinner and drinks in the afternoon and evenings.

Yes, you can rent a car at the airport. It's a good option if you're staying in Huayapam and want to visit Oaxaca City frequently, or other interesting villages.
