ACCOMMODATIONS Stay with a local family and experience Mexican culture firsthand. Total immersion in the culture, there's no better way to learn a language than living in a homestay environment with local Oaxaca people. At breakfast or supper time you'll practice the language with a host family and learn about their customs. In a short time you will be using short phrases and colloquial idiomatic expressions that will enable you to understand them better, while complementing your Spanish lessons. Your hosts will be your first friends and teach you the local customs to understand their way of living. If you'd prefer independent accommodation we can help find you a suitable apartment, hotel or B&B. First fill out our online registration form which will give us your arrival and departure dates, as well as any specific requirements you may have.
Meals in a Mexican home You'll probably find that Mexican families eat at different times, and in different quantities, than you do at home. Host families can always provide vegetarian options and can work around dietary restrictions. Breakfast (desayuno): a substantial meal, served around 8:00am. Lunch (comida): the biggest meal in Mexico, served around 2:00pm, the size is more like dinner in the U.S. or Europe. Dinner (cena): smaller than in the U.S. or Europe, consisting of lighter fare, served around 8:00pm. Click here for Frequently Asked Questions regarding Homestay Accommodation |
